1) Output power


Under the specified requirements, the speed of the cooling fan generally requires 1600-4000r/min, and the rated power can only be reached when the rated speed is reached. For the cooling fan, it is necessary to ensure that it can output at full load for a long time.


2) Start control


The starting process refers to the process in which the motor speed rises from zero to a stable value. For a brushless DC motor, due to its small internal resistance, the current rapidly increases when starting, which will cause the back EMF to increase, and it will also suppress the current increase. After the current increase reaches the maximum value, it will start to decrease. The current at starting is much larger than the stable operating current, which is about 6-7 times the stable current. The power circuit will bear a larger current and electromagnetic interference will also be great. Starting performance is one of the key indicators of cooling fans. Generally speaking, it is required to be safe, reliable, fast and stable, and can be started and stopped at will.

3) Working voltage


Taking new energy vehicles as an example, the requirements for cooling fans working in 12V systems are as follows:


Does not work below 9V

9-16V normal work

16-18V shutdown, but cannot be damaged

18-24V can withstand at least 1h

The control circuit above 24V is damaged and protected by a fuse.

4) Noise control


Generally speaking, the higher the speed, the greater the air volume, and the greater the noise. At present, the general size of cooling fans is relatively large, and most of the cooling fans rotate at 1600-4000r/min. There are special noise testing methods for noise, which need to be optimized from both hardware and software aspects.
